The specimen's sentences are not built. They are emitted. The facts of the case, insofar as they can be reconstructed from the testimony, are these. It is, rather, a field report—brief, exasperated, and inadvertently taxonomic—filed to the subreddit r/ChatGPT by a user who has spent sufficient time in the company of artificial intelligence to have developed what one might call, without irony, a critical ear.
